Our little Lana turned two on Monday, just a month after Zadok turned three. Those two make a dynamic duo that keep their mommy on her toes. Turns out, they’re apparently in training for cirque du soleil. At two years old, Zadok figured out a way to put enough graduated sizes of chairs and stools together to get on the counter and then the large microwave and finally to the top of the refrigerator. Mommy took a rare moment to excuse herself without an audience only to find little Zaddy sitting happily atop the fridge, just waiting for her to come around the corner and stand in awe of his accomplishment.
Not long after, she kept hearing strange squishy thuds in the kitchen while she nursed the infant. A few seconds later she inspected the suspicious sounds only to find him in one corner of the kitchen with broken eggs scattered across the floor. He looked up at her in frustration and said, “Mommy, I can’t get the right trajectory!” The trash can was in the opposite corner.
Little Lana is a pink-tutu-wearing tomboy princess. She’s basically her brother in a tutu and tiara. Wall scaling appears to be her most recent pastime. That cute little face surrounded by defiant curls bursts with energy, and her raspy little voice sets her brother and older boy cousin straight in no uncertain terms.
Yes, the twos and threes wear a mama out, but at the end of the day, a couch full of cuddles makes it worth every little mini heart attack.
…and that’s the view from My Front Porch.
