When I try getting our three-year-old grandson to sleep, I remove distraction and play soothing music: He especially loves piano concertos. Eventually, the music fades into the background as he no longer notices the soft runs and crescendos. His eyes grow heavy, and then he’s out. The music doesn’t matter anymore. [Read more…]
Peanut Butter Pie and Saying Good-bye
Nothing says I care like taking food over when someone’s sick or has passed away. The practical application of our love for others plays out in the casseroles and pies adorning folding tables in fellowship halls as we comfort those left behind, or the overstuffed refrigerators of mothers too sick to cook for their broods. STAYcation

We had the privilege of hosting our daughter and her family this week. Grandma and Papa had lots of snuggles and kisses.

Between our son-in-law’s dad visiting last week and our little adventure this week, we had some tuckered out little ones. Within an hour of their little house in the country, we managed to give them some good old Michigan fun with parks, beach, museums, pool, and lots of backyard BBQ and play time.

Daddy starts a new job today, so they all had to go back to real life. It was fun while it lasted, but all good things must come to an end. I hope you enjoy the photos.
…and that was the view this week from My Front Porch.
